One battle: draft an army, then fight the computer

This page opens DANKGAME on its draft. You have 1000 gold and room for at most five stacks, one stack per kind of unit, and each kind has a muster cap: you can field up to 40 spearmen but only 3 drakes. The list starts on a tested army (24 spearmen, 12 dire wolves, 4 crossbowmen, 8 archers and a knight, 882 gold); change any of it. Fight is refused, with the reason, while the list breaks a rule, and gold you leave unspent is simply lost.

The computer drafts too, under the same budget and caps, without seeing your list. Then both armies deploy on an 8 by 10 battlefield in their own two home rows and fight in the same battle scene as a monster lair on the Conquest map: the fastest stack acts first, equally fast stacks of the two sides take turns, a stack struck in melee swings back once per round, and after 40 rounds the side with more hit points left wins. The result screen offers Rematch (the same two armies, new dice) or New army.

Honest limits: there is no draft against a friend here (a friend battle lives in Duel on the game’s title), nothing about your battles leaves your device, and the computer’s draft is random within the rules, so some of its armies are stronger than others. A battle in progress is kept on your device: reload this page and it picks up at the same turn.
